​Is every piece really one of a kind?

Yes. Every piece is individually handmade in my West London studio. Glass behaves differently every time it is fired, meaning no two pieces are ever identical. Even when I revisit the same design, each artwork develops its own flow, unique shape and often colours.

What types of glass art do you create?

I create a range of contemporary handmade glass art, including:

• Artisan glass and silver jewellery

Each piece is inspired by nature, colour, movement and the way light interacts with glass.

 

Are your pieces made in the UK?

Yes. Every item is designed and handmade by me in my London studio using professional kiln-forming and traditional stained glass techniques.

 

Can I commission a bespoke piece?

I take a limited number of commissions each year. Please get in touch through the contact page to start the conversation.

 

Is your glass suitable for outdoor use?

Some pieces, such as my glass garden flowers and selected garden sculptures, are specifically designed for outdoor display. Decorative indoor pieces should be kept inside unless otherwise stated.

If you're unsure whether a piece is suitable for your garden, just ask.

 

How should I care for my glass artwork?

Glass is surprisingly durable but should still be treated with care.

Simply dust with a soft cloth or wipe gently with a damp microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which may damage decorative finishes. Do not put in the dishwasher and do not drop. Please keep all glass away from children.

 

Is the jewellery hypoallergenic?

My jewellery uses quality sterling silver findings wherever stated in the product description. If you have specific allergies or requirements, please contact me before purchasing.

 

Do you offer gift wrapping?

I tend to use recycled packing materials where possible and you might choose to repack the items if you wish to present them as a gift. Due to the risks related with sending glass by courier, I prioritise the safety of the piece. At the moment, I do not offer packaging.

 

Do you ship throughout the UK?

Yes, I deliver only to the UK. I carefully package every artwork to ensure it arrives safely. Larger or more delicate pieces are securely protected using appropriate packing materials.

 

What happens if my artwork arrives damaged?

Although every order is packaged with great care, if your item arrives damaged please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and include photographs of both the artwork and the packaging. I'll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

 

Can I return my purchase?

Yes. If you change your mind, unused items purchased via my online shop may be returned within 14 days of delivery in their original condition and packaging. Please note that return postage is the responsibility of the customer.

For hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned unless they are faulty.

Commissioned items can't be returned.

 

Why choose handmade glass instead of mass-produced décor?

Handmade glass has a character that simply cannot be replicated by factory production. Every bubble, texture, flow of colour and subtle variation tells the story of its making. Rather than owning something identical to thousands of others, you own an original artwork created with skill, time and creativity.

My aim is to create pieces that bring joy every time they catch the light.

 

Do you have a physical gallery?

My work can often be viewed at exhibitions and selected galleries, as well as in my online shop. Please check my website and social media for current exhibitions and stockists. I also exhibit during Ealing Art Trail. Visits to my studio are subject to booking in advance.

Can you fix broken glass?

Possibly. For my kiln fired/fused pieces I use only one type of compatible glass called Bullseye. This means that I can re-fire and repair my own pieces in most cases. However I’m unable to repair the glass of unknown origin.

What is fused glass?

Fused glass is created by layering pieces of specialist glass and heating them in a kiln to process temperatures around 600-800°C. During firing, the individual pieces melt together into a single sheet, creating beautiful patterns, textures and depth.

The process offers endless creative possibilities, allowing me to incorporate coloured glass, powders, frits and metal inclusions into my work. Every kiln firing produces slightly different results, making each piece completely unique.

 

Is fused glass fragile?

Although glass should always be handled with care, fused glass is much stronger than many people expect. Once fired, it forms a single solid piece that is surprisingly durable for everyday display.

My ornaments and sculptures are designed to be enjoyed for many years. As with any artwork, they should be protected from hard impacts and accidental drops.

 

What is the difference between fused glass and stained glass?

These are two very different techniques.

Fused glass is made by melting layers of glass together in a kiln to create a single piece. The finished artwork often has flowing colours, organic textures and sculptural qualities.

Stained glass is created by cutting individual pieces of coloured glass and joining them together using traditional lead came or copper foil techniques. It is commonly used for decorative panels, windows and hanging artwork.

I work in both disciplines, choosing the technique that best suits each design.

 

What makes handmade glass art so expensive?

Unlike factory-produced décor, handmade glass art is created individually from start to finish. Every stage, from designing and cutting the glass to setting up for firing, grinding, polishing and finishing, is completed by hand.

No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Small variations in colour, texture and pattern are part of what makes handmade glass so special. When you purchase an original piece, you are investing in craftsmanship, creativity and an artwork that nobody else owns.

Does the colour of the glass change in different light?

Yes, and that's one of the magical qualities of glass.

Natural daylight, evening sunlight and artificial lighting all interact differently with the glass, revealing new colours, reflections and textures throughout the day. Many collectors tell me they notice something new every time they walk past their artwork.

 

Why are tiny bubbles or slight variations visible in some pieces?

These are a natural part of the kiln-forming process and are one of the characteristics that make handmade fused glass unique. Tiny bubbles, subtle texture and slight variations in colour are not flaws, they're evidence that each piece has been individually crafted rather than mass-produced.

 

Can handmade glass art be displayed in a sunny window?

Yes. Glass is an ideal material for displaying in natural light, where it comes to life as sunlight passes through or reflects from its surface. Avoid placing it on windows where it would risk becoming overly hot.

How long does it take to make a piece of fused glass?

Creating a finished piece often takes several days. The design is planned, the glass is carefully cut and assembled by hand, and then fired in a kiln. Many pieces require multiple firings, with grinding, polishing and finishing between each stage.

While each firing in the kiln takes minimum 24 hours, the complete creative process, from concept to finished artwork, takes considerably longer.
